Rev. Pete Terpenning

Our pastor, Reverend Dr. Pete Terpenning, is warm, friendly and intelligent. His sermons blend history and scholarship from Christianity and other faith traditions, including Taoism, Buddhism and Celtic spirituality. Rev. Terpenning brings to the pulpit his knowledge of diverse faiths from studying comparative religions at Duke Divinity School.

His personal anecdotes and humor help convey messages that are both spiritually uplifting and motivating. Pete is  easy to talk with and good at community building. He focuses on building community within the church, while living out his faith through his volunteer efforts for social justice and peace.

Rev. Terpenning believes each person has the authority within themselves to set their own doctrine of belief.

“I’m truly a Christian universalist, in that I’m on the Christian path, but I believe there are many paths to God, and it’s all the same God.”
